Instagram now allows you to add hashtags & profile links to your bio

Your Instagram Bio is crucial especially if you're a business or a brand! Think of it as the window of your shop, it's the first thing that your followers or customers see when they check out your profile. It's represents what you want to say about your business or brand and it's how you introduce yourself to the world. That's why you need to make a good impression.

Last week Instagram added a new feature that allows you to add hashtags and profile links to your bio.

As instagram explains "it's a new way to express yourself and the things you care about. Now when you include a # or @ in your bio, they become live links that lead to a hashtag page or another profile." 

They previously introduced the feature of following hashtags that you like allowing you to follow the things that you care about like communities, hobbies, interests, etc. Now with hashtags or profile links in your bio, you can link to any profile or hashtag you want.

For example, PayPal instagram account includes #paypalit in its bio as way to make their newsfeed full of stories of people using PayPal and as a way to humanize their own brand. 

They state in their bio to use the hashtag #paypalit and then share your story. So when you click on the hashtag you will find a lot of beautiful posts by people sharing their stories with PayPal.

Instagram further explains how to add a hashtag or a profile link in your bio. According to instagram:

To add a hashtag or profile link in your bio, just tap on Edit Profile and go to the bio section. When you type a # or @, you will see a list of recommended hashtags and accounts in the typeahead. Once you select the hashtags and accounts you want, they will automatically be linked in your bio. 

Now with all these new features, there are more ways than ever to express yourself and express your business to your customers.
